PUBG has officially confirmed that this update will need an additional of at least 0.6GB of storage on the user’s smartphone to be downloaded. Rumours suggest that the new death race mode of the app will arrive under the name of a ‘Rage gear mode’. The Rage gear mode is predicted to be a race-like scenario where players will compete in armoured vehicles with heavy weapons. Users might also have an option to collect crates in this mode. Gamers may also have a shortcut switch to shift from a third-person perspective to first-person and vice versa. This switch shall appear at the bottom of the screen after the user activates it in settings. A recent leak about the game featured a snow-covered Erangel map. This update brings a snowboard as a mode of transportation for players while giving players access to cable cars, which makes it easier to scout for enemies. The 0.15.0 version of PUBG, which was released in October brought an Apocalypse based theme, where users could earn rewards for playing. New characters and changes to maps, and the companion system were also introduced in this version. However the much awaited Erangel 2.0 map will not be a part of this new update. Gamers will have to wait to receive the new version of the map. In other news about the game, it was revealed that Qualcomm has been working with PUBG to improve the refresh rate to 90fps by users with phones, which support refresh rates of 90Hz or higher. This requires the user to have a phone running on Snapdragon 865 processor. Qualcomm also announced that PUBG will get support for 10-bit HD resolution, giving a better greater experience visually.
