Xiaomi is all set to bring its 12th iteration of Android-based custom operating system MIUI 12 on May 19. The company will be hosting a global launch event tomorrow for the launch of MIUI 12. Due to the coronavirus crisis, the company is going to take the support of online launch which is going to be live-streamed across its all social media channels via its official YouTube channel. The event will start at 5.30 PM (IST). But as per the report, the MIUI 12 will be made available starting late June. According to the company, the first batch of Xiaomi devices that are going to receiving the update includes Mi 10 Pro, Mi 10, Mi 10 Youth Edition (aka Mi 10 Lite Zoom Edition), Mi 9 Pro 5G, Mi 9 Transparent Edition, Mi 9, Redmi K30 Pro Zoom Edition, Redmi K30 Pro, Redmi K30 5G, Redmi K30, Redmi K20 Pro Premium Edition, Redmi K20 Pro and Redmi K20. All these smartphones will start receiving the update by the end of June this year. Soon after this, the rollout will begin for the second batch that includes Mi Mix 3, Mi Mix 2S, Mi CC9 series, Mi 9 SE, Mi 8 series, Redmi Note 8 Pro, Redmi Note 7 Pro, and Redmi Note 7. Later on, Xiaomi phones such as Mi CC9e, Mi Mix 2, Mi 8 Youth Edition, Mi 8 SE, Mi 6X, Redmi Note 8, Redmi 8, Redmi 8A, Redmi 7, Redmi 7A, Redmi 6 Pro, Redmi 6, Redmi 6A, Redmi Note 5, Redmi S2, Mi Note 3, and Mi Max 3 will be able to download the update. Along with some major UI upgrades this time the company highly focused on the user’s data privacy. Along with the rollout of MIUI 12, the update will also bring Android 10’s security features. The Xiaomi’s custom OS is TUV Rheinland certified for privacy and security features. You will get to see new changes to the user interface which is now less complicated with a white background for clear text and wider spacing in between the text along with a bundle of new graphics to complement it making it more simplified. A bundle of new live wallpapers featuring Moon, Mars and Earth which can be zoomed in to show the close up of the surface on the plants. When the dark mode is implemented these wallpapers also go dark visualizing how the planets look at night.
